Progressive Abia Youths have given a positive nod to Gov. Alex Otti following the release of the 2nd Quarter Budget performance report. According to the report, the cost of running the governor’s office was reduced by over 70%, and there was a significant reduction in expenditures across different MDAs.
While we applaud this feat, we call on Governor Alex Otti to inspect the activities in the ministries of education, health, lands, and housing. Expenditures in these ministries in the 1st quarter of 2024 did not align with the realities on the ground.
The Progressive Abia Youth’s Walk to Good Governance Project, executed in partnership with LEAP Africa and the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund, will continue to promote transparency and accountability in governance. Our project’s efforts have contributed to a growing conversation about the importance of good governance practices.
As Governor Otti’s administration continues to implement its policies, we will closely follow and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that Gov. Otti delivers on his mandate for the good people of Abia State.
